For nine summers, Art Trek has been serving an exquisite selection of graphic treats at Gallery Mekanik in Antwerp. This year, curator Ephameron will again pick fourteen refreshing names from an international network of young artists. Discover today’s tastemakers at our opening night, the 28th of July or until the
22nd of September, during the opening hours of the Mekanik shop.

ART TREK
Art Trek was launched by Ephameron as a stage for artwork rooted in comics, graphic design, street art or illustration. Thanks to its accessibility and open-mindedness, this exhibition series quickly became a sound name in the Antwerp art scene, and grew into a fruitful meeting place for creative souls.

THE NINTH EDITION

As tradition requires, this year’s artists come from all corners of the world and blend a wide array of influences into a contagious visual mix. From Belgium, we present Sebastiaan Van Doninck’s praised
illustrations, Martha Verschaffel’s haunting dreams and Ephameron’s sensitive drawings. Other artworks come straight from South-Africa, Norway, South-Korea, the UK, the Netherlands, Germany, Israel and the USA. Nora Krug is probably the most famous foreign guest, with numerous award-winning illustrations, comics and animations to her name.

THE OPENING NIGHT
On the 28th of July, Art Trek will kick off with a lively opening night full of art, artists, drinks and music. The reknown Art Trek wall on the gallery’s terrace will receive a new dab of paint, and there will be lovely artist goods to buy. Afterwards, Art Trek can be visited until the 22nd of September during the opening hours of the Mekanik shop (Mon-Sat from 10am to 6pm).

Opening: July 28, 6 – 10pm
