It was a long hard winter in Hamburg. One that saw freezing temperatures, snow, and a long wait for the grand reopening of the heliumcowboy artspace. Well the spring has sprung and this Saturday, May 29th the cowboys are back with a brand new space and a real-life west coast American on hand to cut the red ribbon.
Heliumcowboy has been working hard to get their new space ready for this grand opening. The new residence is a beautiful historical brick stone building, formerly used by the city of Hamburg as the Lost & Found. It is only a matter of days until the doors are open and artists will be able to take advantage of the 170m2 of exhibition space, as well as a studio for installation work on site. With this step, heliumcowboy artspace expands and moves from its temporary location at Hachmannplatz to the heart of town – to the neighborhood of St. Pauli, where it has been founded by Jörg Heikhaus in 2003.
Jeremy Fish will be cracking the champagne at the very first show in the new space with all new works from his “Road Less Traveled Tour.” The tour kicked off a few weeks ago with his opening at the the good old (1 year old to be exact) Arty Farty Gallery in Cologne. His tour is as much as to show his work in new places as it is to gain inspiration and imagery for his future work. Travel is truly a great motivator.
Congratulations to heliumcowboy for the new space, congratulations to Arty Farty for their one year birthday party, and congratulations will be in order for Jeremy come this Saturday, May 29th (8-11pm) when “The Road Less Traveled” opens up.
